Types Of University Of Portsmouth International Scholarship 2025/2026
1. Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship
Description
- £5,000 fee reduction for the first year of study.
- For self-funded international students starting September, 2025.
- Requires application and acceptance by deadline, plus completion of a specific form.
- Reviewed by the University’s scholarship panel, with successful candidates notified by email.
- Applications received between Monday 3 March 2025 and Monday 2 June 2025 will be informed of the outcome by Monday 30 June 2025, and successful candidates will have until Monda
- 28 July 2025 to meet the conditions of the scholarship offer.
- Excludes ICP students and those who’ve previously studied at the University of Portsmouth
- Can’t be combined with other scholarships or deferred

2. Faculty of Science and Health Scholarship
Description
The University of Portsmouth offers a £2000 fee reduction for international students starting postgraduate taught courses in the Faculty of Science and Health. This scholarship is for self-funded students and can be combined with the VC Global Development Scholarship. It’s available for the September 2025 intake.
Eligibility Criteria
Scholarship excludes ICP students and those who’ve previously studied at the University of Portsmouth
– Can’t be deferred or combined with most other scholarships.
. You must hold and have accepted an offer to study a postgraduate taught course within the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Portsmouth.
. You must have achieved a 1st class honours undergraduate degree classification (or equivalent). If you have not completed your undergraduate studies, you must have evidence that you are predicted a 1st class honours undergraduate degree classification (or equivalent).

Application Deadline
The deadline for applications is the 31st May 2025. Applicants will be informed of the outcome by 16th June 2025, and successful candidates will have until Tuesday 21st July 2025 to meet the conditions of the scholarship offer (i.e., paid the deposit and have an unconditional offer).
3. Vice Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship
Description
For September 2025 entry, eligible students will be able to receive the Vice Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship. This scholarship will take the form of a £2,500 fee reduction that will apply to your first year of study.
>If you’re studying an undergraduate course, you must be a self-funded student on a full-time, on campus, course with annual fees of £16,200 or above for September 2025 entry.
>If you’re studying on a postgraduate research or postgraduate taught course, you must be a self-funded student on a full-time, on campus, course with annual fees of £16,200 or above for September 2025 entry.
